Projects Update 10/10

Hello and welcome my lovely viewers to another works in progress update. I have a couple of crafts fairs I am working next month so I am hard at work trying to get as much done as I can. My goal is to have a full inventory by New Years which is over 70 plushies and that is only if I plan to take one each of most designs. Right now I am really trying to get my pony sets done as they sell well and I really enjoy making them, as well as a couple little side projects to keep myself from going crazy.

I decided to pick one character per week and finish all the plushies I will make of that pony, this week I went with my favorite pony, Pinkie Pie.

That means one tiny plushie, two medium sized, and one large. I am still playing around with yarns so the two mid-sized ones came out very different sizes. The smaller one is smaller than my usual ponies and the larger one is, well, larger so no good. In the future I plan to use a different yarn altogether, but this was an interesting test. I still think they all came out very cute. Giant Pinkie Pie obviously still needs her mane finished and if I get that done today I will update the picture. Next week I move onto Rainbow Dash.

I was really feeling like working on a pony the other night and this was the yarn I had on hand, so I figured why not? If nothing else I can put out this little guy to show that I do custom ponies and can do whatever colors people can think of.  I must say I like how the mane came out and the big chunky stripes on the head and body. IT is always interesting to see how varigated yarn stripes up.

We had some friends over on Monday so I was just playing around with some of my yarn I stash in the living room for such projects (I am a yarn horder, and pretty ok with it). I am not a big fan of the red, white and blue patriotic look but the yarn needed using up so I made this little guy. I think he needs a little white top hat to be complete. I also start these two little octis since then. I used the blue varigated in another project recently and I just love how soft it is. No idea what it is, came from a goodwill bag.

Of course more hats. The blue and black one was just something I randomly started and I think I really like how the varigated teemed up with the black. I might have to try this again in the future with some other varigated yarns. The purple and grey was just a combination I really liked together. Still needs ears, I just cannot decide if I should do grey or purple.

Still working on the Glaceon hat but I did not get much done on it so I will show it off next time when there is more to it.

A friend of mine asked me a to make a Batman plushie for her brother. I have not done amigurumi dolls before and did not have a lot of interest. The hair and clothes look like a pain. This guy was a lot of fun though. Pattern is by 53 Stitches she does great amigurumi doll patterns of super heroes and anime characters that are just adorable. I would definitely suggest giving these patterns a look.

Finally, because the last one didn't drive me crazy enough, I started work on another of Nerdy Knitter's Princess Ponies, this time Princess Luna. I am trying to work on it a little bit every day and not take another two months on this one. I think the yarn is a bit bright but I'm a bit far in to restart at this point, hoping she still turns out well and I can try a darker navy next time. Head and body finished, now on to the legs, which if they are anything like Cadence's are going to be a pain.

Not a hugely successful week but I am trying to just be consistently working. Now to finish up the last pinkie pie and move on to more ponies. Join me Monday for a less pony featured post (probably, I make no promises) and have a great weekend!
