Projects Update 10/31

Welcome and Happy Halloween my lovely readers! I hope you are having a fun and spooky filled day an got your costume finished before the last minute. I got mine finished at 10 last night, does that count? No probably not. But I had a lot of other things I was working on this week that I want o show you so let's take a look.

So I've been showing you my progress with my costume pieces, hat and tail, that I have been working
on and here they are completed. After working on so many adorable pokemon plushies I just had to make a hat and tail for myself which works nicely as a costume and cosplay for the future. The designs are my own modified from the pieces for the plushies and I have to say I am a little proud. Might have to make more Eevee hats and tails in the future, really this only took so long because I was working out the pattern.

It suddenly hit me this week that I have a craft show next weekend so I really need to get things finished up. I sold out of my poke-ball octopi this summer so I am trying to at least have a few made up. This little guy still needs a button on the front. I just love how cute these little guys come out. Hopefully I will get a couple more finished this week.

But my big focus this week was on ponies of course. I am trying to have one set of large ponies, two of medium sized, and a set or little ponies for events so I am rushing to get them finished. This week I was finishing up Twilight Sparkle. I'm still working on my pattern for the little ponies, but as usual, love how the giant one tuned out. I just think he big ones are so cute and it's nice that they are big enough for a kid to actually snuggle with. This is the one cutie mark I'm not felting it's a lot easier to just sew it on for now, might find a better way to do it in the future.

Then I finally took the time to finish up my pony. I plan to put her up at events to show that I do custom ponies, plus it's nice doing something for myself once in a while. That is something I'm bad at so she has taken me around three months to finish. No cutie mark right now because a ball of yarn is surprisingly hard to do with yarn which I find pretty funny.

Working on the last two ponies, Apple Jack and Rarity, that I need to finish. Not much done but I hope to be able to finish three of each by next Friday.  Wish me luck! Thankfully I already have one each of the medium sized ones so I only need to make three instead of a whole set of four.

I haven't had a lot of time to work on Luna this week but I got a bit done, the main piece of the tail and one of the border pieces. If you are working on this pattern, my border piece came out way too short. I just measured against the main piece as I went along but it was at least another 20 stitches. I don't know if that was an error on my part or the pattern writers, I'll let you know when I finish the other piece.

card box there to keep down the curling end, sorry about that
Finally I started another wash cloth. Just working on my Tunisian Crochet (as you can tell, I'm not very good yet) which I think works really well for a cleaning cloth. I also really like how this cotton is striping up. I'm using Knit Picks: Dishie in Heat Wave Multi. It just seemed appropriate for the season.

That's it for this time, thanks for taking a look. I will see you on Monday for a new post but will probably not have one out on Friday as I will be super busy. Have a fun and safe Halloween and a great weekend!

Yarn Review: Deborah Nroville: Everyday Worsted

Hello and Welcome back lovely readers. It's time for another yarn review! This week I want to look at one of my long time favorite yarns; Deborah Norville's Everyday Worsted collection. I first came across this yarn years ago when I was still knitting, it was in a goodwill bag of yarn I picked up. It was the softest yarn I had ever worked with and I loved how the stripes were large and regular instead of the variegated yarns I was used to. There was no label so I thought I would never find it again. I was overjoyed when I found it the next time I was at Joanns and I love both the plain and striped version. So today I want to take a critical look at this yarn.

Despite my early issues finding this yarn, it is a very common one to find. Beyond the solid and striped worsted there are a few other varieties, neon and school colors and you can find a lot of the striped patterns in a sock weight yarn. But today I just want to talk about the worsted in solid and striped as that is what I have worked with an am most interested in. So let's get started.

Texture:
This yarn has a great texture, it is a nice balance between being super soft and fluffy and being too tight and slick. This is a good yarn for making gloves, hats, clothing type projects. It holds it's shape well and neither pills up nor gets scratchy. The solids are consistent when it comes to texture, but a couple of the striped yarns are a bit softer. Over time it maintained this texture even after being washed.

Overall texture is great.

Yarn Weight:
This yarn is a worsted weight, obviously, and sits pretty squarely between the last two we looked at. It is about what I would consider average for a worsted. Again the weight is consistent through the solids but a few of the striped are a bit thinner which is why they are softer. In my experience this has been the lighter colors, Pattycake and Nursery while all the others I have worked with have been consistent. I can definitely recommend this yarn for projects where consistent sizing is important or if you are doing the same design in different colors and want them the same size.

Overall weight is great.

Color Consistency:
While the Everyday collection does have dye lots, there is no noticeable chance between them. I started a tablecloth in the Cotton Candy striped yarn and had to buy new skeins a couple of times and they have all matched perfectly. As with any yarn, if you are trying to match a much older skein there is likely to be some change either from fade or small changes in dyes over time, but is about as good as can be expected. I will once again warn, if you want to be 100% sure of matching colors, always make sure all of your yarns for a project are bought from the same lot.

Overall color consistency is as good as can be expected.

Color Variety:
Between the solids and striped there is a lot of variety here.

Sorry about the small images, there are a lot of colors here. There is not as much variety with the solids as the last yarn we looked at, but still a good variety. And it is made up for with the good collection of striped yarns. There is a more across the board variety of colors here as well, with both pastels and bright colors which both of the other yarns we have looked at was missing.

The stripes have a nice variety between light, dark, and bright mixes as well. The stripes make up in nice big chunks with a little variegated stripe of the other colors between each color which gives a nice look. I would not suggest these striped yarns for patterns too complex or varied in shape too much as the consistency of the stripes is the biggest strength here. They look best when worked in thinner projects like scarves and gloves but work well on hats and blankets as well. Look at the end for what I have worked up in these yarns.

Overall color variety is good, nothing missing.

Felting:

If you haven't read the last couple of reviews, I use acrylic yarns for felting as well as knitting and crochet. I brush out the yarn and felt directly onto the project. Here is a bit more about what I do with Felting. So far it seems like the rougher yarns felt up better, let us see if Deborah Norville's Everyday yarn follows that trend. I will be working with Baby Yellow, Grenadine. and Very Red.

These all came out very soft but the denser yarn meant the fibers stayed together better so there is some potential here.

I figured I would practice my eye shapes and it was not as bad as some of the others have been. I was right about the density, it helped the fibers stay together better without me having to do a ton of layers. But it is still too soft for felting. I have to go over edges over and over to make them solid and the lighter colors will still call for a lot of roving to not show through. I have not decided on which yarn to do next but I think I will pick something less soft so I stop saying the same things over and over in the felting section.

Overall felts better than some softer yarns but still not ideal.

Price:

That all said, this is a pretty good yarn, and one I would love to use for more projects. But is it worth it to use primarily for plushies.
The mean average price for this yarn $4.08 without discounts, most commonly found at around $3.99 (do not buy at Walmart! It's about half again as much in price)
Skeins are 113 Grams and 203 yards
which comes out to:
$.02 per yard or $.036 per gram
Here is a comparison with the other yarns we have looked at
This is a great yarn and that I can absolutely advise to everyone, just know you will have to pay a little more for it. With coupons and sales you can absolutely make up the difference on it. I will keep using it for those projects that are really worth it, but I think I will still supplement with some less expensive yarns for now.

You can find it most places that sell yarn on and offline. Like I said, it is wa overpriced at Walmart, if you can find it. But places like Joanns have it for around $3.99 ($2.99 right now if you want to give it a try!) Michaels does not have it.

That is about it for this time. I had a lot of fun getting to take an extra close look at one of my first favorite yarns and share it with you. Please join us on Friday for more projects in process and thank you so much for taking a look. Let me send you out with some pictures of what I have done with this awesome yarn!

Projects Update 10/25

Hello and welcome my lovely readers. Its Friday once more so here is a look at what I have been working on. It has been an unusual week, between being gone all Saturday for a wedding, missing my games night where I usually do my sewing to to go my nephews concert (both completely worth it of course) and having a large commission, I was not able to get my usual schedule done, but here's what I did accomplish.

Of course, first and foremost, I finished my commission. Three Leafeon plushies in three sizes. This was a ton of fun and I learned a lot. It was great figuring out ways to do the different parts in different sizes and I ended up free-handing a lot of it. The tails all ended up being my own design and it was a lot of fun figuring out how to make them look like lightly tattered leaves and I talked about the ears on Monday. I think I like how the medium sized out came out best overall. Between the tail and the felted eyes I could not be happier. Which is not to say I don't love the other two as well. I will definitely have to make more of these in the future. My only change would be maybe finding a bit sutler and maybe a touch darker green but that is nit picking. The collar on the big one is a little charm of the original are of Leafeon that my friend makes. I always like adding a little something to orders like this to thank my customers.

Then I finished up my Fluttershy plushies. Ok so the bigger ones were made a while ago, I only finished the tiny one this week. I just love how cute they look all four together. They look like a little family. This also means I am done with half of the ponies which makes me very happy. I really want to get all six sets done before my crafts fair in like two weeks. It probably won't happen but good to have dreams. Next week I start on Twilight Sparkle. I have a couple of Twilight Sparkle feet done but

taking a picture of just three little feet made for a sad and lonely image, so that will wait for next week.

Working more on my Halloween costume...which is just a hat and tail, it works as a half assed cosplay for later too! Just need one more ear then sewing. The ear is my own design and I'm still not sure about it, I think if I were to make another one in the future I would thin them out a little bit. I just did not want to go longer, I think they will already be a bit annoyingly tall and not want to stand up too well. To get them to stand up a bit better, I have all three layers made with picked up stitches from the hat itself rather than made separately and I glued them together before sewing to stiffen them up. I seems to be working, we will see once it is all put together.

Then I finally started on Christmas presents (yes finally, time moves funny in the crafting world). I know I won't have a ton of time to just work on personal projects with events coming up and hopefully some more orders from that so I wanted to start with the most important one. This is a shawl for my husbands grandmother who is an amazing lady who crocheted and knitted her entire life and built a business out of it years before the internet and tools like etsy were around to make it easier. She has been a great encouragement for me with my business and really welcomed me to the family so I wanted to make something really nice for her. Hoping this comes out well. Once I finish the body of it my sister-in-law is going to put a border on it so it should be a neat collaborative effort for someone we both love.

My husband was complaining that we don't have many washcloths (he's right, we have like one). So I decided to take the chance to use up some cotton and practice some techniques. I  have enough other stuff to work on that I'll probably not get them done very quickly but I have this one for now. I really love anything to do will the shell stitch so this guy was a lot of fun. It's also huge so something for me to think about in the future. Probably shouldn't have done the shell stitch, but I jut love it too much.

And finally more work on Princess Luna. So far the main pony is complete and just needs to be sewn together. Starting work on main and tail so getting close to halfway done, not counting sewing and felting. This one is definitely going quicker than the last. I am endeavoring to work one piece per day which is a lot of work on top of everything else I am doing, but if I always take three months to get these guys done I will never finish them all. I really need to get the legs and body sewn together so that I feel like I am actually getting somewhere with it.

So that's all for this week. Now back to many ponies and finishing up my halloween costume. I'm hoping to have the new yarn review up on Monday so keep an eye out for that. Thank you for reading and have a fantastic weekend!

and if you missed it, I put this guy up as the new header on my Facebook Page. Just a nice look at some of the plushies and accessories I've gotten done this year.

A Bit About the Biz

Hello and welcome back lovely readers. I am still hard at work on my custom order of three Leafeon plushies so I wanted to talk to you a bit about that and crafting as a job in general. If that sounds boring to you then please check back in on Friday for pretty pictures.

My biggest problem with making this my job has always been productivity. I am just amazed at how quickly I am getting these plushies finished. A year ago I would have maybe gotten a head or torso done in a very productive day. Now I should have all three finished, sewn together, and felted in four days. (I go no work done Saturday due to the wedding I mentioned) I know a lot of other crafters suffer from this as well so these are the things I do that have helped me.

1. Have a designated work space where you are comfortable but not too relaxed. I tried working from the couch and nothing ever got done. I work from a desk with typical office chair. Having that designated space makes sure you are able to separate the time there as work time even though you are working from home doing something you love.

2. Keep yourself entertained. one of the great things about crafting is that you can do it while watching or listening to something else. Just make sure its something you can pause easily if you need to focus on counting and not something you will get too absorbed into. Something you've seen before or that doesn't take too much thought works well. I tend to watch youtube videos of people playing video games (I don't have time to play them myself anymore) or competition shows.

3. Set yourself work hours, but take advantage of when you are in the zone. I tend to work around my husbands schedule, he gets off at 4 then takes some time for himself until 5 or 6 so I work from when  wake up until he is off and try to get a little done on his days off. This keeps you from over working yourself and resenting what you do. But if you are really enjoying what you are working on or finally getting a difficult pattern, it's best to work through that. It's nice not having a boss breathing down your neck over hours. (of course if you have children, ignore this entirely and just work when they let you I suppose)

4.Don't be afraid to stash. as yarn lovers, this is not usually a problem, but I know I suffer from having too much variety rather than a good stash of good yarns I need for a lot of projects. Nothing takes you out of project mode like having to take an emergency yarn run. And if you stock up on sales you will be saving money in the long run and making projects from stash feels like you are being thrifty and productive.

5. Take care of yourself. Take breaks, make sure to eat, take time off if you find your wrists, hands, eyes etc. hurting. You are doing what you love and if you do yourself permanent damage you will not be able to do it in the future.

6. Always be willing to learn something new. I'm a bit of an all or nothing kind of person so when I sat down to crochet I was set on doing just crochet all the time. But my crafts have really benefited from me learning better sewing techniques, felting and other interesting tricks of the trade. And even just on a crochet level I love learning new stitches and techniques, you learn them for one project but you will find yourself incorporating them into other projects in the future.

There is a lot more to it, but these are the things I most need to keep in mind and keep me going. The other big thing I do to keep myself in the crafting mood, probably won't work for a lot of people, but does for me. I have a rotation of three to five projects. I usually do either ten rows or finish a head or pair of legs etc. before moving on to the next one. This keeps it interesting I get to play with different patterns and colors and it keeps it from getting dull. In the short run you feel like you are getting less done but without taking breaks out of boredom and having something to always be looking forward to I find I get more done.

I was going to include something about playing with patterns or making your own, but I think that might need it's own post or two in the future.

While working one three similar but differently sized plushies I tried some experiments. I did the color on the ears three different ways. On the big one I did the most time intensive and crocheted a different piece, on the mid sized on I cut out felt and glued it on, and on the little one I felted. and I think they all work. The felting probably looks best but it hard to make look as good and will get really fuzzy on the bigger ones. The crochet piece looks good too but takes a while which is hard to justify for the less expensive mid-sized plushie. The glued felt is my least favorite, but I think given time and practice I can get it looking better.

These kinds of experiments are fun and keep you going when you are making a big inventory of the same or similar plushies and its always good to try new things.

I hope you found this at least a little informative and I hope you join me back on Friday for the finished Leafeons, because I probably won't get anything else done this week.

Project Update 10/17

So sorry for the lack of post on Monday, we had a busy week and things just got away from me. Unfortunately the next week won't be much better so you will still get a post on Monday ( it is half written already) but the yarn review will wait another week. So if you have an opinion on what yarn you want me to review next you have a bit of time to let me know. Must be easily bought in my area, worsted weight yarn. Thank you for bearing with me, now to see what I have been working on.

I spent the weekend working on ponies and got the Rainbow Dash's mostly done, they just need cutie marks. I really like how the little one came out, it's fun doing that much hair for such a little pony. Obviously the big one was finished before but I love how they look as a whole set.

I got the giant Pinkie Pie's main done, which took a lot longer than I would have liked but I like how it came out in the end.

Having finished those I decided to work on the only Fluttershy I had left to do so I started on this litle guy. I am still working on my pattern for the little ponies, trying to figure out the size of the noses and eyes, head placement, etc. I also decided to make their legs a bit longer than the tiny Eevees and I really like how it looks. I think her tail came out a lot better than Rainbow Dash's I just wish the main didn't crimp up so much but those are the little complications that making a tiny pony brings up.

I was going to start on Rarity when I finished that up but to my great surprise and joy, I actually got an order form my shop this week. I have a set of Eevees to finish up, my client wants the leaf Eevee, Leafeon, which I had only started on a tiny plushie for so I have set everything else aside to work on these. I have been working my fingers off to get them out as soon as possible and it's making me aware of just how much work they are, I may have to up my prices in the future. But I think I have done a pretty decent amount of work on them for two days, I have all heads and torsos done, starting work on ears and legs next. I'm a bit anxious about the felting but that doesn't come until the end.

They are coming out a bit bigger than the Glaceons, I accidentally used a G hook instead of an F but I'm having no problem with stuffing showing so I figure why not make them bigger? So tune in next Friday to see them finished. I have a wedding tomorrow and rehearsal this afternoon (congratulations Nate and Erin!!!) so hopefully I can really buckle down the rest of the week and get these plushies hammered out.

Before starting on the Leafeons I got a bit more work done on Princess Luna. I am at a stand still right now due to running out of he blue. I have been to all three craft stores in my area this week and none of them have it. I'm trying to decide whether to just wait and try again after the commissions are done, order online, or look in Walmart, will probably just wait. But she is definitely going faster than Cadence did which is a good sign and shows how much I learned making her.

Thanks for taking a look and sorry I don't have time to say more. Have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday!

Projects Update 10/10

Hello and welcome my lovely viewers to another works in progress update. I have a couple of crafts fairs I am working next month so I am hard at work trying to get as much done as I can. My goal is to have a full inventory by New Years which is over 70 plushies and that is only if I plan to take one each of most designs. Right now I am really trying to get my pony sets done as they sell well and I really enjoy making them, as well as a couple little side projects to keep myself from going crazy.

I decided to pick one character per week and finish all the plushies I will make of that pony, this week I went with my favorite pony, Pinkie Pie.
art by Spit Fire Art on Deviantart

That means one tiny plushie, two medium sized, and one large. I am still playing around with yarns so the two mid-sized ones came out very different sizes. The smaller one is smaller than my usual ponies and the larger one is, well, larger so no good. In the future I plan to use a different yarn altogether, but this was an interesting test. I still think they all came out very cute. Giant Pinkie Pie obviously still needs her mane finished and if I get that done today I will update the picture. Next week I move onto Rainbow Dash.

I was really feeling like working on a pony the other night and this was the yarn I had on hand, so I figured why not? If nothing else I can put out this little guy to show that I do custom ponies and can do whatever colors people can think of.  I must say I like how the mane came out and the big chunky stripes on the head and body. IT is always interesting to see how varigated yarn stripes up.

We had some friends over on Monday so I was just playing around with some of my yarn I stash in the living room for such projects (I am a yarn horder, and pretty ok with it). I am not a big fan of the red, white and blue patriotic look but the yarn needed using up so I made this little guy. I think he needs a little white top hat to be complete. I also start these two little octis since then. I used the blue varigated in another project recently and I just love how soft it is. No idea what it is, came from a goodwill bag.

the very pretty kitty in the background refused to move
Of course more hats. The blue and black one was just something I randomly started and I think I really like how the varigated teemed up with the black. I might have to try this again in the future with some other varigated yarns. The purple and grey was just a combination I really liked together. Still needs ears, I just cannot decide if I should do grey or purple.

Still working on the Glaceon hat but I did not get much done on it so I will show it off next time when there is more to it.

A friend of mine asked me a to make a Batman plushie for her brother. I have not done amigurumi dolls before and did not have a lot of interest. The hair and clothes look like a pain. This guy was a lot of fun though. Pattern is by 53 Stitches she does great amigurumi doll patterns of super heroes and anime characters that are just adorable. I would definitely suggest giving these patterns a look.

Finally, because the last one didn't drive me crazy enough, I started work on another of Nerdy Knitter's Princess Ponies, this time Princess Luna. I am trying to work on it a little bit every day and not take another two months on this one. I think the yarn is a bit bright but I'm a bit far in to restart at this point, hoping she still turns out well and I can try a darker navy next time. Head and body finished, now on to the legs, which if they are anything like Cadence's are going to be a pain.

Not a hugely successful week but I am trying to just be consistently working. Now to finish up the last pinkie pie and move on to more ponies. Join me Monday for a less pony featured post (probably, I make no promises) and have a great weekend!

Yarn Review: Knit Picks: Brava Worsted

Hello and Welcome back to another Yarn Review. This week we are talking about a less well known yarn that has been very dear to me. Knit Picks is an online company that makes yarn and other knitting, crochet, spinning etc. accessories. Brava Worsted is their basis worsted weight yarn, so what do I think about it? Let's find out!
Knit picks yarns are on the other side of what I talked about when I was talking about Red Heart: With Love, they are a smaller company only selling their in house yarns, so the stigmas attached are great. Using their yarns definitely feels like a step above using what you can find in your local Walmart, or even big craft store. How does this classier yarn stand up against it's lower brow counterparts:

Texture:
The texture is pretty great, soft and sleek without feeling waxy. Definitely a skein you will want to just sit and hold a bit before starting your project (please tell me I am not the only one doing this). With bigger stitches it definitely keeps that soft feel and smaller stitches will pick up more of the sleek silky feel. Sadly it looses both when using double strands on a tight stitch, but that's not something I do often. That soft feel is consistent through their other colors.

One thing to keep in mind, this yarn is going to b at it's best knitted, not crocheted. the texture will play best with larger knit stitches where you will get less of the yarn knotting itself taking away from that lovely texture.

Overall texture holds up very nicely.

Yarn Weight:
This yarn is listed as a 4 or worsted weight, same as our last yarn but while the With Love was bigger than your average worsted Knit Picks: Brava is a lot smaller, just over half the size (smaller for their strangely small colors)

This is by no means a standard worsted. It is one of the smallest I have seen in the category. Comparing yarns like this make me think maybe we should add a few more size categories (say a 4 1/2 or something) but that's a conversation for another day. Small is by no means bad as long as you are expecting it and it is consistent. They have a bulky weight that is very similar that is also very small for its size category that you can use instead if you are looking for a large worsted. Size consistency is decent, you will be fine within the same color but I have noticed a couple of colors run a bit small, the white and red especially, but it is not a huge difference, but definitely something to keep in mind.

Overall yarn weight is ok, consistency over different colors would be nice.

Color Cosistency:

Two words; Dye Lot. Knit Picks fully warns you that they use dye lots and colors will change overtime. This is not inherently bad and something crafters need to plan for. I made this mistake and mid plushie found myself with a much more orangey yellow. Colors are consistent within dye lots and do not seem to change too often so plan appropriately and you will not have a problem. This seems to come from the fact that they sometimes are made in China and sometimes in Turkey the colors seem to be consistent within the different plants. If you are making plushies or projects that need very specific shades you may want to look elsewhere.

Overall, color consistency is good through dye lots.

Color Variety:

As I said last week, I like a lot of color choice, and Knit Picks does not dissapoint.
That is fifty shades right there. I do not think we could ask for much more. With a full range of colors you are going to be able to find pretty much any color you need. The colors are all bight and vibrant in person and even the closest shades are different enough that they look good when used next to each other making it easy to do ombre effects. There are no varigeted options sadly but having a greater variety of single colored yarns is a good swap.

Overall colors are great. If you cannot find it here you will have to dye it yourself.

 Felting:

I recently picked up felting, so I like taking a look at yarn to see how it holds up when brushed out and used for felting so here is my results.
I have never felted with this yarn before due to it being a bit more expensive and so small but let's see how it shapes up. I'm using three colors, red, canary, and blush. If this is your first time, you may want to take a look at my post on Felting  to understand what I am doing here.

forgive me if the picture is a little Fuzzy! *rimshot*
The red was a smaller yarn and came out very sleek and soft which, while amazing to touch, is not good for felting. The other two came out rougher which bodes better.

So maybe I should not have done this test on a piece made of the same yellow...but you can see the other colors. The red did no go well being hard to shape and it took a lot of roving for the yellow not to show through much more than the others. The yellow and pink worked pretty well, I still prefer a rougher yarn for this but it went pretty well it just requires a lot more roving to cover your area.

Overall not terrible but you will get much beter results from a cheaper yarn. Save this yarn for your knitted or crocheted projects.

Price:

And now time for the numbers segment of our show. As I said at this beginning, you are paying for a higher quality with this yarn and it shows. The price is not terrible but the skeins are pretty small. There is only one place to get this yarn, at Knit Pick's shop or through their magazine, so price is simple.
$2.99 a skein, which is 100 Grams and 218 yards
which comes out to:
$.029 per gram and $0.137 per yard compared to the With Love's $.025 per gram and $.0131 per yard
The differences seem small on that scale but $.40 on 100 grams adds up when one skein makes you a project. This is a nicer yarn and worth the price there are definitely worse yarns going for more. I enjoy working with it but when I go back to knit picks, it will be for their bulky not the worsted (which is the same price per gram but less yardage).

Like I said the only place to get it is
Knitpicks.com they have other non-acrylic yarns and yarn crafting accessories and do often have sales, right now they have one for Halloween colors so you can get your brown and orange worsted for $2.69
I'm sure you can also find it places like ebay but personally I like supporting independent companies

That's about all I have to say. I will be using up my stock of this yarn and moving on to others but I really do enjoy working with it and recommend it if you like a smaller worsted yarn and don't mind the other flaws I mentioned. As I mentioned I am a big fan of the bulky and will continue to use that in the future. Let me see you out with some pictures of projects I gave made with the Knit Picks: Brava Worsted

Jolteon in Canary, if you can tell the tail pieces are a slightly different color from a different dye lot

Body is made using Canary, hair is red heart

Cthulhu pony is made using Brava Bulky and a hook too large for the pattern, in person the stuffing shows through
Two Pinky Pies the one on the right is made using a double strand, it used up more than an entire skein

only the yellow and black is made with brava but it is so soft!
I believe this is black and celestial

Twilight sparkle (with big sad eyes) bady made from Freesia, Pink in the tail is Rouge
Thanks for taking a look and join me on Friday for another works in progress. I am thinking of what to do for next time, let me know if you have a request. For now I am sticking with worsted weight acrylics. Have a great week!
